IT 8 will emphasize various types of computer programming. We will begin with LOGO, using the turtle to make various shapes. This will be followed by setting up programs that enable the turtle to execute any number of lines at one key entry. LOGO will involve some games which require geometrical estimations.
The second section of the course if Visual Basic programming. Students will learn the elementary vocabulary of the BASIC language and apply it to simple programs that are not visual. This skill will then be applied to the visual forms and windows of the program. As much as possible content will be coordinated with other courses. The section will end with the assignment of a major VB project.
The last section of the course is an introduction to HTML and simple webpage design. The students will go through the various steps of designing a web page and eventually will design and implement their own website.
Assignments will be given in this Moodle course and completed assignments will be uploaded to Moodle for grading.
