Many of the pivotal discoveries in science have been made my men and women who acknowledged their Creator. They looked for order and meaning in the natural world because they believed God created with order and meaning for us to discover. In Science 10 we will discover something about ecology, chemical reactions and radioactivity, the physics of motion and energy transfer and plate tectonics.
Physics 11 is the first physics course of the high school curriculum, although physics topics have been introduced in various ways in the Science curriculum of previous grades. Physics 11 allows students to go into much more detail and mathematical anaylsis of physics topics. Physics 11 includes the study of waves and optics, including optical instruments, vectors (measures that include both magnitude and direction), kinematics (the study of motion without reference to forces), dynamics (the study of forces and their effects), gravitation, work, energy and power, special relativity and nuclear physics. It will include a full complement of laboratory work as well as frequent classroom demonstrations.
Physics is a fundamental science because it involves the insights and laws that describe how the physical universe operates. For that reason it is a course well worth the opportunity for study.
